This course focuses on the management of acute and chronic medical/surgical illness in adult individuals and their families. Students utilize critical thinking techniques, communication skills, and application of knowledge in planning nursing care. Specific components of the course include common medical and surgical illnesses, selected technical skills, ethical and diversity issues.
