This course focuses on health promotion and disease prevention for childbearing families along with physical and mental illnesses that can affect pregnancy. Students utilize critical thinking techniques, communication skills, and application of knowledge and technical skills in planning care for childbearing women and their families. Specific components include legal, ethical, and diversity issues.
