This course will cover the history of photography, the tools of the medium, photographic processes, print enhancement, and finishing and displaying the product. The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the photographic process while developing and sharpening the skills in both the processing and printing aspects of recording positive photographic images from a negative medium as well as expanding the student’s visual senses in order to encourage more meaningful photographic experiences. Students are expected to furnish their own film-based manual or automatic 35mm SLR camera.
