BA 500 - Foundations in Competitive Advantage

(6)
Brenau’s M.B.A. in Business Administration assumes the entering student has already acquired the necessary conceptual foundation prerequisite to graduate level study of complex organizations and free market commerce. This course is designed to provide the entering graduate business student who either lacks an adequate grounding in the principles of the functional disciplines of business obtained at the undergraduate level or desires a rigorous refresher in these concepts, with the intellectual tools necessary to begin his or her pursuit of the M.B.A. degree. While administered as a single unit, the course is team taught and structured to provide four distinct learning modules in each of the fundamental areas of accounting, decision analysis, marketing, and management. At this preparatory level of study, concepts rather than methodologies and derivative techniques are emphasized. The course is occasionally an alternative to the 500 level fundamental courses prerequisite to entry into the core M.B.A. program.
