BY 115H - Honors Human Biology *(4) Designated for students who are in the honors program, but not biology majors, for the fulfillment of their liberal education requirement for a laboratory science. The course is a general survey course focusing on the impact of mankind on the environment and the environment on mankind, the role of evolutionary history has played in the development of where mankind is today, modern biological synthesis including molecular and classical genetics, biotechnology, and human organ systems including circulation, immunity, respiration, excretion, nutrition and digestion, bones, muscles, the endocrine system, and the nervous system. Term paper, oral presentation, and in-class discussion required. Laboratory mandatory. Extra assignments beyond those required in BY 105.
