PH 300 - Philosophy of Science *(3) This course offers a philosophical overview of the contemporary scientific enterprise. It includes (1) a brief historical survey of scientific development with an eye to the metaphysical and methodological questions raised by that growth; (2) an examination of foundational issues in science, such as confirmation, explanation, and the nature of scientific knowledge; and (3) an investigation as to what limits there are on legitimate science (including methodological and ethical limits).
