The A.A. degree in liberal studies consists of liberal education requirements and elective/concentration courses. The elective/concentration courses should be chosen from courses that will be applied toward the student’s future bachelor’s degree major or from an academic field that interests the student. Students may not transfer into the A.A. program with more than 45 semester hours of credit.
General graduation requirements:
Students must:
- Earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0
- Satisfy a 15 hour residency requirement with Brenau. Experiential, challenge and CLEP credit do not count toward the residency requirement.
- Accumulate a minimum of 60 hours of academic credit (63 hours if the student took three hours of developmental coursework or 66 hours with six hours of developmental coursework). Students and advisers can track cumulative hours by reviewing the student’s transcript via CampusWEB.
Note: Some courses listed [below] that apply toward the liberal education portion of this degree are at the 400 level. The courses listed are part of a combined liberal education curriculum shared with Brenau’s bachelor’s degrees . A.A. degree students should only take courses at the 100, 200 or 300 level toward this degree.
