The completion of the requirements for the M.A.T. will result in certification at the secondary level (Grades 6-12). The majors which will be considered for Brenau’s M.A.T. are biology, chemistry English, history or related social science, mathematics, physics and theatre (P-12). In addition to all the course requirements, students must pass the Teaching Field Content Exams for academic content area (GACE) prior to student teaching or internship.

Clinical Experience

A total of 9-12 hours of clinical experience is required. Choose from the student teaching sequences (9 hours) listed below for one semester or the internship experience (12 hours) over several semesters.

Field Experience: Will have field experience in designated courses.

The difference in hours is dependent upon the clinical experience the student chooses.
