ED 631 - Literacy for Teachers(3) This course focuses on current approaches and strategies for language arts instruction for grades K-5; 4-8, All strands of language arts and children’s literature are included. Focus is placed on content necessary for a balanced literacy program. Instructional strategies appropriate for these age groups, skills to be taught, and activities and materials will be used. Emphasis is on holistic language instruction incorporating oral and written language skill areas and all strands of language arts as defined by the NCTE. This is a placement embedded course; a 48-hour field experience placement in a regionally accredited school is required during the course. Prerequisite(s): ED 607, ED 612, ED 608 or 609 Note(s) Permission from the Clinical Experience Office is required to register.
