NG 403 - Community Health Nursing: Community at Risk(3) This course focuses on health promotion, risk reduction, and disease and injury prevention for communities at risk. Students utilize population-focused nursing interventions to identify determinants of health, prioritize primary prevention, identify and reach out to those who might benefit from a service, and use available resources to assure best overall improvement in the health of a population. Organized efforts to eliminate health disparities for vulnerable populations as defined by race/ethnicity, socio-economic status, geography, gender, age, disability status, risk status related to sex and gender, and among other populations identified as at-risk for health disparities are also examined. An opportunity to demonstrate written competency is an integral component. Corequisite(s): NG 403C
