ED 309 - Foundations in Arts Education (3) This course provides students with an introduction to the history, purposes, and practice of dance, music, and visual arts instruction in schools. Topics in physical and cognitive learning development, planning and assessment strategies, learner diversity, classroom management, arts integration, standards, and instructional resources are addressed. Students also begin to form their personal arts teaching philosophy and professional relationships and affiliations. This is a placement embedded course; a 36-hour field experience placement in a regionally accredited school is required during the course. Note(s) Permission from the Clinical Experience Office is required to register.
