The first semester of a two-semester sequence of an algebra-based introductory course in physics. This first semester studies mechanics, including constant-acceleration translational and rotational motion, Newton’s force laws and gravitation, energy and momentum conservation, and an introduction to fluids and thermodynamics. This course has a laboratory component. Prerequisite(s): MS100 or MS101
