The overarching goal of this class is to prepare the DPT student for entry-level practice with an older adult population. The student will be prepared to perform a
comprehensive evaluation that addresses the multiple complexities of an older adult patient population. The student will be able to generate appropriate, evidenced -based and patient-centered treatment interventions constructed from the interpretation of relevant clinical evaluation data. Objectives for this class reflect recommendations from “Essential Competencies in the Care of Older Adults at the Completion of the Entry-level Physical Therapist Professional Program of Study” developed by the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy.
