EN 215 - Entrepreneurial Leadership

This course covers the theory and application of leadership principles and theories for entrepreneurship.  The learnings throughout the semester will better prepare students who aspire to be an entrepreneur or intrapreneurs and the leadership skills necessary.  Leadership is comprised of many definitions, interpretations, and actions.  Students will dive into the individual theories, apply them to entrepreneurial situations, and assess the outcomes.  Students will also examine their own leadership competencies and identify a plan to improve their skills and abilities as an entrepreneur.  This course exposes the student to the challenges, objectives, and skills required to be a leader in an entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial capacity. Key topics include power, vision, ethical decision-making, teams, and the role followers play in a leader’s success.  The course will consist of role-plays, lectures, presentations, community involvement, assessments, case studies, and written research papers.
