EN 225 - Socia Entrepreneurship

(3)
A rapidly growing area in the overall field of Entrepreneurship is that of utilizing entrepreneurial methods and approaches with the goal of addressing social problems.  This course specifically focuses on this area, encompassing a range of both for-profit and non-profit ventures (non-profit, NGO, for profit with some profits reinvested for social good, etc.) designed to achieve “social good”. The course will frame the concept and context of what “social good” and “social change” are, using a range of real-world situations and examples.  In addition, we will look at how entrepreneurship has been and can be utilized to address such problems; proven “best practices” for creating sustainable solutions will be featured.  We will also tackle the difficult question of measuring “success”.
