PY 630 - Social and Familial Aspects of Behavior

(3)
Social psychology is the study of how the presence of others (or the anticipation of others) impacts the individual. Since its origins in the aftermath of World War 2, researchers in social psychology have led the scientific study of interpersonal and group behavior including topics such as aggression, prejudice, and altruism. Social psychologists also seek to understand group processes, intimate/family relationships, and the sense of self. This course will explore both the foundations of social psychology
as well as the application to current social issues
