This course will provide students with an overview of the dance movement therapy profession. The course will begin with the history of the early development of dance and movement as a therapeutic modality, and it will cover the contributions of the early originators. The students will be introduced to a variety of dance/movement therapy methods that can be used with individuals or groups and there is a focus on developing clinical skills. The students will demonstrate what they learn through simulated group experiences.
