This course is aimed at developing learners’ skills in reading and writing at the advanced level. Learners will develop the ability to read a wide range of academic and complex texts and to understand subtleties of meaning, author attitude, tone, and intentions and follow the development of arguments, interpret, analyze, and evaluate meaning. Learners will also develop the skills to write essays on a variety of familiar and unfamiliar topics with abstract and specialized nature with consistent patterns of coherence, grammatical accuracy and complexity, and varied academic vocabulary.
