The course focuses on the development and implementation of a Police Mental Health Collaborative program in a law enforcement agency. The course reviews the process of conducting a community needs assessment, which includes identifying populations at risk of law enforcement contact, identifying available resources within a community, and identifying community stakeholders who may support and contribute to the success of the PMHC program. Funding sources at the community, state, and federal level are evaluated. Students create a program plan to include protocols and procedures for service delivery, ethical record keeping and information sharing, data collection, and project management.
