Women’s Executive M.B.A. (General Business)

(30 credit hours, 3.0 GPA, Five years of management level work experience required)

This program is designed to graduate professionals with the essential theories and practices in the major business disciplines needed for effective management of an organization. Students can expect a strong theoretical foundation with practical applications to enhance their professional qualifications. The program is restricted to executive women seeking to advance their careers. Special emphasis will be given to the role of women in the respective disciplines.

Graduates of the program will:

  1. Be prepared to hold positions of managerial responsibility in organizations.
  2. Be prepared to make significant contributions to organizational problem-solving and decision-making.
  3. Be prepared to lead in an ethical and socially responsible manner in a global marketplace.

Upon completion of the program, graduates should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate mastery of knowledge of the essential theories and practices in the major business disciplines.
  2. Evaluate the environment in which businesses operate with an awareness of complexities, interdependencies, risks, consequences, and diverse stakeholder perspectives.
  3. Formulate statements of business problems or opportunities to facilitate insightful dialogue and critical thinking.
  4. Generate solutions to complex business problems or opportunities through critical, creative, and systems thinking and apply appropriate theories, concepts, tools, skills, practices, and research.
  5. Make decisions and action plans within a business context that are effective, well-reasoned, ethical, and socially responsible.

Stop out policy
The Executive MBA Program Director must be notified in writing of a student’s withdrawal. The reason for withdrawal must be approved by the dean or director. If a student must “stop out” of the program for any reason they will be eligible to reenter the program with the next cohort.
