The primary focus areas of this course are health promotion, risk reduction, and the prevention of disease and injury in older adults. Evidence based approaches to restoration of health and preservation of dignity in older adults is also presented. Upon completion of this course, the student will be exposed to opportunities for use of critical thinking to provide safe, competent nursing care of older adults according to professional standards.
