PA 624 - Fundamentals of Gastroenterology and Nutrition (4) An organs systems course focusing on the fundamentals of Gastroenterology and nutrition. The course consists of: a review of the gastrointestinal system’s anatomy; physiology; pathophysiology including genetic basis of disease; related physical examination; presentation of common disorders; differential diagnosis; diagnostic modalities including imaging; therapeutics, including pharmacology; prevention and follow up; fundamental concepts of nutrition and nutritional therapy. Each system’s course will discuss medical considerations to address social determinants of health and appropriate patient education. Prerequisite(s): PA 610, PA 611, PA 614, PA 615, PA 616, PA 617 Corequisite(s): PA 624L
