OT 803 - Foundations of Occupation 1 (3) This course is the first of two courses that introduce students to the basic tenets of occupational therapy in the provision of services to individuals, groups, and communities, to meet society’s current and future needs. Upon completion of this course, students will understand the origin and history of the occupational therapy profession and its philosophical base as impacted by the sociopolitical climate. An emphasis is placed on activity analysis and occupational analysis throughout the course so that students understand the role of occupations in promoting health and participation across the life course.
