This course provides students with opportunities to develop advanced skills in the use of standardized assessment measures and apply these measures when evaluating various psychological disorders including autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and specific learning disorders. Students will gain competence with specific psychological assessment measures beyond those encountered in PY705 and PY 706, although they are expected to draw on previously acquired knowledge including the benefits and limitations of psychological assessment. At the end of this course, students will be able to articulate and display awareness of the selection, administration and interpretation of assessment measures to appropriately diagnose disorders across the lifespan and also identify ethical, legal and cultural issues related to assessment.
