Since today’s society is becoming more diverse, dance therapists have the opportunity to serve a collective of cultures in their practices. This course will investigate the diverse multicultural issues in dance therapy/counseling, and the intersectionalities of culture and its influence on the therapeutic relationship. Students will explore their own personal culture, unconscious biases, and suppressed messages about those who are different from themselves. Through experiential activities and acculturative experiences.
