PY 771 - Dance/Movement Therapy Speciality Practicum I

(3)
During this class the student is required to be in Practicum II at a site where the student is able to conduct dance/movement therapy in individual sessions and/or groups. It is expected that students will also be enrolled in a regular internship course (as required for licensing and hours) in addition to this specialty practicum class. While the hours obtained during this time could count towards licensure, they would be supervised by the BC-DMT
supervisor rather than the campus supervisor. This class allows students to explore the questions, struggles, and challenges that may arise during their practicum experience. The practicum also allows students to apply the concepts of dance/movement therapy to case conceptualization and treatment planning. Students will present their individual and group work with clients in class.
