This course will explore the influence of community on mental health. Students will become knowledgeable about the principles of Community Psychology and community-level interventions. They will explore the role of the psychologist/counselor as an agent of community action. There will be an emphasis on understanding the cultural contexts in which organizations seek to promote mental health. Students will actively participate in community level interventions. Special focus will be placed on rural mental health interventions.
