This course is designed to provide opportunities for students to better comprehend the multiple specialty roles of pediatric nursing in the acute and ambulatory setting. Through didactic and clinical experience, the student will have the opportunity to learn and demonstrate the clinical skills needed for providing safe, family centered care in a variety of pediatric specialty sites. The student will apply concepts of evidence-based practice, quality and patient safety and nursing role delineation across various pediatric settings. Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) Pediatric Elective Program.
